ChatGPT Space: shared pages and meeting notes in one place

OpenAI introduced Space, Pages and a Meetings plugin. A team can co-edit documents with AI and keep meeting notes and next steps together — for now only on higher plans.

What happened: At DevDay on September 29, OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Space — a shared area that replaces the existing Library on higher plans (Pro, Business and Enterprise). It brings together pages and files (existing ChatGPT Projects stay separate), and members can invite others in. It includes Pages: a new kind of document several people can work on at once, each asking their own ChatGPT. Pages can hold charts, checklists or dashboards and, following your instructions, can update themselves from connected tools such as Slack or email. The third piece is the Meetings plugin, which records meeting audio and saves notes, summaries and action items in Space. According to press coverage it is in beta on Pro and Business and so far only in the macOS app. Creating and editing pages works on the web and in the desktop app; on mobile you can only read and share pages for now. Presentations and spreadsheets are announced as "coming soon," with no date.

What it means for you: ChatGPT is moving from a personal chat towards a team workplace. In practice it could look like this:

  • A "project status" page — AI updates it weekly from email and messages, and you just review it
  • A meeting write-up — after the call you find the summary, decisions and tasks in Space, ready to move into your task manager
  • A shared document — a colleague edits the intro, you check the figures one by one, and each of you uses your own assistant

The biggest benefit is that materials, notes and outputs live in one place, so AI draws on shared context instead of your empty chat.

How to start:

  1. Check which plan you are on — Space is only on Pro, Business and Enterprise; Meetings is additionally macOS-only and in beta.
  2. Create a Space for one specific project and add only the people who belong to it.
  3. Create a "project status" page and give a clear instruction about what to update and from where.
  4. Try Meetings first on an internal meeting where an imperfect write-up doesn't matter.
  5. Review and correct the AI's action items before sending them out. AI proposes, a human approves.

Watch out for: Recording meetings requires participants' consent — follow company policy and applicable law. Press coverage also notes that OpenAI has not yet explained in detail how Meetings handles access to meetings and sharing; before putting a sensitive topic in Space, check the permission settings. Do not put personal data, client data or internal documents into Space without your company's approval, and anonymize sensitive information first.
