Before you publish, have AI fix only the typography: smart quotes, dashes instead of hyphens, spacing around numbers and units. It leaves the wording alone.

AI loves to improve your style, even when nobody asked it to. Tell it to fix only spelling and punctuation and list the changes — your voice stays yours.

Testing a spreadsheet, a form, or a mailing? Have AI generate fifty fictional rows with names and amounts instead of copying real data.

“You froze” usually doesn't mean slow internet — it means unstable Wi-Fi. An Ethernet cable is the single most reliable upgrade for calls.
Don't arrange a meeting time over email. Google Calendar and Outlook lay attendees' calendars side by side, and you spot the open slot at a glance.
Send a link, the other person picks an open slot themselves, and the meeting lands on both calendars. A built-in Google Calendar feature almost nobody knows about.

F9
One click strips ads, menus, and recommended articles off the page. What's left is text and images — like in a book.
Sharing your full desktop shows colleagues your notifications and half-typed messages too. Sharing one window shows only what you meant to show.
Colleagues will forgive a grainy picture, but not a booming mic sound from across the room. A mic near your mouth is the cheapest meeting upgrade there is.
Right-click pins a chat to the top of the list, and a key message above the whole conversation — visible to everyone. No more hunting for a link from last week.
A phone's camera puts the built-in webcam in its pocket. Windows 11 can connect it wirelessly as a regular camera for Teams and Meet alike.
Teach Word that “dph” means “value added tax.” AutoCorrect can expand your own custom shortcuts across every Office app.
Ctrl+Enter
Paginating with twenty presses of Enter falls apart at the first edit. Ctrl+Enter inserts a real page break that stays put.
Ctrl+Shift+8
The ¶ button reveals spaces, tabs, and page breaks. Suddenly you can see exactly why text jumps where it shouldn't — and what to delete.
Shift+F5
Open a document and Word dumps you at the start. Shift+F5 jumps exactly to where you last stopped writing.
Ten phone photos to email? Image Resizer from PowerToys shrinks them right in File Explorer — select, right-click, done. Originals stay untouched.
Win+Alt+K
You don't have to hunt down the meeting window to mute yourself. Win+Alt+K in Windows 11 toggles the microphone even while you're working in a completely different app.
A notification in the middle of a shared screen is a nightmare. Windows can turn on Do Not Disturb automatically while presenting, gaming, or at set hours.
Win+Shift+R
A short “click here like this” video beats ten screenshots. Newer Windows 11 can record a chosen part of the screen to MP4 with a built-in tool.
Every PDF opens in Edge even though you read PDFs elsewhere. Photos open in an app you never chose. Two minutes in Settings → Default apps and files start opening where you actually want them.
Win+D
One press hides every window and shows the desktop. A second press brings it all back.
Win+P
Plugged in a projector and no picture shows up? Win + P switches multi-monitor modes instantly.
Win+L
The fastest security habit there is. One keypress and nobody can see what you're working on.
Ctrl+Shift+V
In Docs, Gmail, and most web apps, it pastes plain text without foreign fonts and colors.
B
Pressing B during a slideshow blacks out the screen — the audience turns to you. W does the same with white.
Shift+F5
F5 runs from the beginning, Shift+F5 from wherever you are. Priceless when you're fine-tuning a single slide.
The projector shows slides; on your laptop you see notes, a timer, and a preview of the next slide.
Ctrl+Shift+S
Ctrl+Shift+S starts dictation — in English, free, right in the browser. Ideal for rough first drafts.
Shift+F3
Caps Lock stuck on by accident? Select the text and Shift+F3 cycles between lowercase, Title Case, and UPPERCASE.
Heading 1 and Heading 2 aren't just about looks — they power the navigation pane, an automatic table of contents, and chapter collapsing.
Ctrl++
Tiny text on the web isn't something you have to live with. Ctrl and your scroll wheel (or +/−) zoom the page in, Ctrl+0 resets it.
Win+A
Win+A opens quick settings (Wi-Fi, volume, focus), Win+N opens the notification center with a calendar.
Win+H
Voice typing in Windows works in your language and starts wherever the cursor is blinking. Dictate a first draft of an email in a third of the time.
Win+Shift+S
Windows' most useful shortcut for screenshots — pick a region, a window, or the whole screen, and the shot lands right in your clipboard.
Don't email files between Apple devices. AirDrop is faster, doesn't compress anything, and has no size limits.
Preview handles arrows, boxes, text, and blurring sensitive info. For 90% of everyday edits, you don't need anything else.
Cmd+Option+Shift+V
Cmd+Option+Shift+V pastes text clean — no foreign fonts, colors, or sizes. Saves the look of every document.
Cmd+Shift+5
Cmd+Shift+5 opens a panel that handles both screenshots and screen video — including area selection and a timer.
Cmd+Shift+4
Cmd+Shift+4 turns your cursor into a crosshair. Select an area and the shot lands on the desktop — or straight in the clipboard.
