Udio is becoming a closed platform after its deal with the labels
After settling its dispute with the major music labels (UMG included), Udio is rebuilding itself as a licensed platform: songs live inside the service and only leave it in limited ways. For a parent who mainly wants a song file for their phone and car, that makes it an impractical choice right now. The kids' songs guide describes it exactly this way and recommends Suno as the starting point — we verified the wording against the current state of the service.
Udio is no longer an equal alternative to Suno — we updated the AI music guide
After settling its disputes with the music labels (UMG, Warner), Udio is rebuilding itself as a closed, licensed platform: songs live inside the service and downloading files out is restricted. The stings-and-underscores guide used to suggest running the same brief through both Suno and Udio and comparing — that no longer makes sense for a workflow that ends with a file in your editing software. We rewrote the Udio entry in the tools overview: it now notes the closed platform and restricted downloads, and Suno remains the default choice for tracks headed into an edit.
Suno: the free tier gives roughly ten songs a day, non-commercial only
Suno's free tier gives a daily credit allowance good for roughly ten songs a day — and since every generation returns two variants, that is really five attempts. Free-tier songs are for personal, non-commercial use only; commercial rights are decided by the plan you were on when the song was created, not when it is published — subscribing later changes nothing retroactively. The kids' songs guide relies on exactly these numbers and rules; verified against the service's current terms.
Verification run: eight big guides passed a fact check unchanged
The first verification run over the big guides: for ten articles we checked feature and mode names, tool existence, menu paths, and the availability of described functions against current official documentation. Eight guides passed unchanged — among other things, it still holds that the ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini mobile apps have a voice mode, that Copilot in Excel now comes with a Microsoft 365 subscription, that Claude offers mail and calendar connectors with scheduled tasks and draft-saving, and that Gmail still nudges you about messages left unanswered. Two articles had drifted and were fixed — they have their own entries.
Meta launched Ads AI Connectors: a hosted MCP server and CLI, no App Review
In late April 2026 Meta launched Ads AI Connectors — two interfaces to the same thing: a hosted MCP server at mcp.facebook.com/ads and a companion CLI installed via npm. You sign in to the MCP server with your regular Meta Business account, with no developer app and no App Review; Meta recommends MCP for analysis and ad-hoc reporting, the CLI for deterministic and bulk operations. Google Calendar no longer has Goals — we removed it from the AI scheduler guide
The Goals feature, which auto-scheduled recurring activities into free slots in the Google Calendar mobile app, was shut down by Google back in November 2022 in favor of recurring events. The AI calendar scheduler guide still listed it among Google Calendar's built-in features. We removed it from the list; the rest — focus time, booking pages, and automatic declines outside working hours — still holds.
Google Analytics has an official MCP server — experimental, local, read-only
An official MCP server for Google Analytics exists and is published by the Google Analytics team itself: the googleanalytics/google-analytics-mcp repository, open source under the Apache 2.0 license. Three properties matter: it is labeled experimental (nothing mission-critical should depend on it), it runs locally on your machine, and it only reads GA4 data through the Admin and Data APIs — it cannot reconfigure or delete anything. The ads-and-analytics-over-MCP guide describes all three as both a limitation and a strength; verified against the repository and documentation.
Eleven Music: ElevenLabs now generates whole songs, vocals included
ElevenLabs, best known for speech synthesis, has a music generator called Eleven Music: from a text brief it composes a whole song including vocals, sings in dozens of languages, and its music is covered by licensing deals with music publishers. The kids' songs guide lists it as an alternative to Suno — most interesting for parents already using ElevenLabs for audio versions of their texts, who now get music and spoken word under one roof. The audio-versions guide stays unchanged, its tool simply covers music now as well; we verified both against the current state of the service.
